Falcon Eye Toward the Future – Part One: Who Could the Falcons Cut in 2019?

By Matt Karoly

Allow me to be the first to say it. It’s time to start looking ahead to 2019. After three straight losses, following three straight wins which only served to give us false hope, the Atlanta Falcons are seemingly dead in the water in the NFC playoff picture at 4-7.

The Falcons essentially have to run the table, plus get some help from around the league, in order to make the playoffs at 9-7. And with tough games still remaining such as a home date with Baltimore and road games in Green Bay (where the Packers have not lost this season) and Carolina, that proposition seems futile.

Therefore, this article serves as the jumping off point into the offseason discussion of how Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff retool the Brotherhood in 2019. So without further ado, here is part one of a three-part series which will run through who the Falcons could cut, sign, and draft in 2019.

Pre-Training Camp 2018 Fantasy Football Rankings

By Evan Birchfield

Greetings Rise Up Readers, it is I, Evan Birchfield, here with the first of my Fantasy Football articles in 2018. Following a rather slow offseason, and with the NFL Draft now over, we can look forward to the regular season.

With that being said, let’s get started! Continue reading

After Falcons’ Seattle Win, the Buc Stops Here

By Mike Lederle

The Atlanta Falcons were able to put a stop to the Seahawks and Russell Wilson’s undefeated streak on Monday Night Football with a 34-31 road victory this week.

Seattle’s Legend of Boom light had a tough time containing a Falcons offense that continues to get better week to week, and the Falcons defense continued to be opportunistic with a key Desmond Trufant interception, as well as a Takk McKinley sack/fumble that results in an Adrian Clayborn scoop-up touchdown. Quinn’s Falcons Must Pave Their Own Path in Playoffs

By Cory Woodroof

You know how the next two weeks are going to go.

“You know how those Falcons always fold in the playoffs!”

“Matt Ryan? More like Matt Cryin’ ‘cuz he choked away another playoff game!”

“Wait, the Falcons are in the playoffs? Well, they’ll lose early, I bet.”

“Wait, Matt Ryan is an MVP candidate? What has he done?”

“What’s an Atlanta Falcon?”

Look, we’ve been here before, and we’ve had our share of disappointments regarding the p-word: playoffs. Continue reading
