A Tribute to Roddy White: The Falcons Newest Ring of Honor Member

By Matt Karoly

Regrettably, Roddy White’s career did not intersect with my time covering the Atlanta Falcons. White decided, or perhaps more appropriately Father Time decided, that 2015 would be his final season in the NFL.

Shortly thereafter, I began covering the team for Fansided’s Blogging Dirty during their run to the Super Bowl in 2016. And while that season certainly left a bad taste in the mouths of Falcons fans, it must have hurt Roddy White even more.

Falcon Eye Toward the Future – Part Two: Who Could the Falcons Sign in 2019?

By Matt Karoly

It’s been a year to forget for the Atlanta Falcons. Aside from a three game stretch in the middle of the season, what could go wrong for our beloved Dirty Birds has gone wrong.

While many will point to the injuries as the culprit, this season’s failures go much deeper than that. Truth be told, the coaching staff overestimated certain talent on the roster and no spot was that more evident at than defensive line.

Combine that with the regression of players like Ryan Schraeder, De’Vondre Campbell, Desmond Trufant, and Robert Alford, and you get a team flirting with a top five pick.

By Matt Karoly

Greetings, Rise Up Readers! I am back for another installment of the Mattlanta Mon…wait, today’s not Monday!

Instead of continuing the Mattlanta Monday Mailbag series, I decided a bit of a re-branding was necessary with my monthly column this season. Now dubbed Three Questions with Karoly, I will be selecting two questions from you, the people, with the third question being one of my own that I’ve deemed to be the most relevant in the Falcons community today.

Pre-Training Camp 2018 Fantasy Football Rankings

By Evan Birchfield

Greetings Rise Up Readers, it is I, Evan Birchfield, here with the first of my Fantasy Football articles in 2018. Following a rather slow offseason, and with the NFL Draft now over, we can look forward to the regular season.

If you recall, last year I would do a weekly article with my projections of how Falcons players would perform for that week. This year I’m going to continue doing the same, with the addition of my projection for the top 10 NFL performers for that week, per position. For this article, I am going to give a top 5 per position (PPR) heading into Training Camp.

With that being said, let’s get started! Continue reading

Falcons 2018 Position Review: Wide Receiver

By Gabe Gonzalez

The offseason is in full swing, with trades (the Chiefs got absolutely fleeced), mock drafts, and your favorite draft “expert” giving Lamar Jackson a second-round grade. The Atlanta Falcons are coming off an above average 10-6 redemption season that fell flat on its back on the two-yard line in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. This Super Bowl-depraved team is starving for a ring, and so is the rest of the fan base. Maybe 2018 will be the year?

Let’s take a step back and have an honest review of each of the positional groups for Atlanta. First off, the receivers. Continue reading

By Mike Lederle

Oops, we did it again! No need to apologize, Dirty Birds. In fact, take a bow! All of the lazy narratives from writers, and t.v. personalities about Super Bowl hangovers have been put to rest.
