From the onset of Dan Quinn’s tenure in the good ol’ ATL, a program was implemented. A program that would take young, raw, athletic talents and develop them into serviceable, if not starting-caliber players. Dan Quinn believed that these kinds of players were a critical part of team building. Continue reading
Ladies and gentlemen, your Atlanta Falcons are 3-0.
It’s a good thing! The Falcons, coming off the worst ending to a season ever, have won two of their eight road games, and have beaten Aaron Rodgers, to start the year. The offense has put up 30 or more the last two games, and the defense is finally starting to come together. Though, they’re a bit nicked up right now on both sides of the ball, and a surprising 2-1 Buffalo Bills team is set to make the trip to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
So, before the early bye week, the team will close out the quarter mark of the season with a home stand against the stampede. How will they fare? Let’s take a look-see, shall we? Continue reading
Deep breaths, Atlanta Falcons fans! Deep breaths!
Mike and Cory return to the Rise Up Reader Podcast after the Falcons heart-stopping Week 3 win over the Detroit Lions to break down the Birds’ upcoming bout with the Buffalo Bills. Continue reading
Oh, hey, everyone, are you still alive?
After the hate-eternal gut punch of Super Bowl 51, the Atlanta Falcons got back at it in the Windy City against a stout Chicago Bears squad. The team didn’t bring the fireworks on offense like we got accustomed to seeing last season, but they did more than enough to secure a win, though it was the defense who sealed the deal. Why, hello there, Falcons faithful! It’s podcast time!
Mike and Cory return for another great edition of the Rise Up Reader Podcast. This week, they’re joined by Adam Jones, a Falcons fan and Rise Up Reader who also was a former football coach in Georgia. Adam helps the guys break down the Pittsburgh Steelers preseason game and a few topics of note in the headlines. Continue reading
The Atlanta Falcons’ second preseason game was like a game of Who’s Line is It Anyway – it was a cataclysm of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Wait a second that’s not right. Well, I mean, it kind of is when you think about it.
In a trip to the Steel City, the Falcons’ starters throttled the Pittsburgh Steelers’ starters (well, the ones not including the team’s three best players, Big Ben, Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell, who are all very good), and the Steelers’ reserves throttled the Falcons’ reserves. All in all, it was just some dumb preseason game in a city known for putting French fries on sandwiches (which tastes good, for what it’s worth). Continue reading
Why, good day, fair Falcons fandom!
It’s about a week from the day the Atlanta Falcons first arrived in their vehicles to the facility where camp happens, and we’ve seen some cool stuff, talked about some interesting camp stories on our highly-vaunted social media pages and have even convinced ourselves February was just a cruel dream shared by the entire state of Georgia and select surrounding areas, and the Falcons actually had a team party last February at the Georgia Dome with pizzas and soda pop and bouncey houses and Freddie Falcon singing karaoke (N*SYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye”) with Rich McKay, Jeff Ulbrich, Sharrod Neasman and the AJC’s Mark Bradley. The Rise Up Reader Podcast is back with another fine edition of Falcons jabbing and gabbing, this time with The Falcons Wire’s Andy Gallagher joining Mike and Cory for the fun. Continue reading
