In addition to being a die hard Atlanta Falcons fan, Matt is also an avid Villanova University men's basketball fan. Matt did not, however, attend the university as he is a graduate of Bloomsburg University (PA) where he earned a bachelor's and master's degree in Accounting. Matt currently works as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) at a local CPA firm in the Lehigh Valley (about an hour north of Philadelphia).
What a nightmare season it’s been. Since we last checked in, the Falcons have lost their last three contests and the defense has been responsible for 114 points.
They also have lost two more defensive stalwarts in Ricardo Allen and Grady Jarrett. Imagine removing the heart of an organism and expecting it to continue to flourish. That is what’s being asked of the Falcons defense right now.
Greetings, Rise Up Readers! I am back for another installment of the Mattlanta Mon…wait, today’s not Monday!
Instead of continuing the Mattlanta Monday Mailbag series, I decided a bit of a re-branding was necessary with my monthly column this season. Now dubbed Three Questions with Karoly, I will be selecting two questions from you, the people, with the third question being one of my own that I’ve deemed to be the most relevant in the Falcons community today.
The Atlanta Falcons wrapped up the 2018 preseason with a 34-7 defeat at the hands of the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. With the loss, the Falcons finished the exhibition schedule with an 0-4 record for the second consecutive year.
However, that means very little in the grand scheme of the things. The good news is Atlanta enters the regular season with a fairly clean bill of health with Blidi Wreh-Wilson’s status to be determined.
All that’s left now is to determine what players will walk into Lincoln Financial Field for the regular season opener. With that said, I present to you my one and only 53 man roster projection for the Falcons.
It’s just another Mattlanta Monday. I wish it was Falcons Sunday. ‘Cause that’s my fun day. My I don’t have to run day. It’s just another Mattlanta Monday.
Greetings, Falcons fans near and far! I am back for another installment of the Mattlanta Monday Mailbag where I answer your Atlanta Falcons questions and even answer a few of my own that I’ve thrown out to the Falcons Twitter-verse.
Oh happy day! Today officially marks the beginning of another year of Atlanta Falcons football. In a few short hours, the Falcons will kick off the 2018 preseason against the New York Jets.
While very little can be gleaned from the first preseason game, we should find answers to our most pressing questions over the course of the four game exhibition slate. Here are the five questions I hope to have answered by the time the regular season rolls around.
Julio Jones has dominated the headlines in recent weeks for his absence during the Falcons’ offseason program. On Monday, General Manager Thomas Dimitroff issued a statement on behalf of the team to acknowledge Jones’s unavailability for mandatory minicamp.
With the Falcons mandatory mini camp set for June 12-14 and training camp to follow in July, real football is on the horizon, folks. To get you prepared, I thought we’d start by diving into some of the competitions that will take place this summer in Flowery Branch.
With the Falcons roster seemingly set for 2018, now’s as good a time as any to step into the future and examine how this organization plans to keep the machine rolling. By my estimation, Atlanta will have $148.5 million committed to 30 players that I’ve deemed to be safe roster bets in 2019.
